Overview

Ester provides recipe discovery. Some recipes may be AI-generated or AI-assisted; nutrition, allergens, and timing are approximate. Use your own judgment and verify ingredients, allergens, and cook times before use.

Data We Collect

• Usage data: pages viewed, searches/filters, and basic device/browser info to improve the product and prevent abuse.
• Anon rating token: if you rate a recipe, we store a random token in your browser/localStorage to enforce one rating per recipe per device/user.
• Logs/IP: our backend (e.g., Supabase) may log IP addresses for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
• Contact & newsletter info: if you email us or join our newsletter, we store your email address (and any optional metadata you share) to send updates and respond.

How We Use Data

• Operate, secure, and improve the site and search.
• Prevent fraud/abuse (rate limiting, anomaly detection).
• Respond to support or feedback emails.
• Send opt-in newsletters or product updates when you subscribe (you can opt out anytime).
• Aggregate analytics (we do not sell your data).

Cookies & Local Storage

We use localStorage for your rating token and may use cookies for basic session/preferences. You can clear them in your browser; clearing may remove your stored rating token.

Third Parties

We rely on providers like Supabase (database/storage), hosting/CDN (e.g., Vercel/Cloudflare), and email delivery services for newsletters. They may process limited personal data (e.g., IP, logs, email) on our behalf under their own terms. We do not sell your personal data.

Data Security & Retention

We use reasonable safeguards but no system is 100% secure. Ratings and minimal logs may be retained for fraud/abuse prevention and product analytics.

Safety & AI Content

• Recipes may be AI-generated; verify ingredients, allergens, cook times, and temperatures.
• Nutritional values and allergen flags are approximate and not medical or dietary advice.
• Use appropriate food safety; you are responsible for your own health and kitchen safety.

Children

The service is for general audiences and not directed to children under 13.
